Students will live a unique and inspirational learning experience with one of the most renowned contemporary hat brands.
They will learn how to hand-make and design several and different kinds of hats, with different shapes, styles and workmanships, will study how to manage different materials and trims, following both tradition and current trends, always combining love and care for the detail with a modern, creative and sustainable approach.
The course is divided in 2 modules, the Apprentice Level (7 weeks long) and the Artigiano Level (17 weeks long, including the Apprentice Level).
The 7-week long basic module is a first introduction to the art of making a hat. Students will learn how to design and make blocked hats with a focus on both straw and felt.
They will be introduced to the concept of blocked hats and will work with basic materials that are suitable for beginners, such as wool and light rabbit felt, simple straws, and elementary trims.
During the second 10-week long module, students will improve their skills and expand their knowledge, by learning how to manage more special and difficult materials on blocked hats, how to enrich the product with more sophisticated trims, and how to create “cut and sewn” hats, with a focus on baseball, bucket hats and flat caps.
At the end of the course students will be able to develop their own final project in our laboratories for 3 additional weeks under the guidance of our Maestros.
Next intake will start on February 8th, 2022.
